ADDER'S TONGUE Ophioglossum crotalophoroides

Adder's tongue is a rhizomatous fern. The rhizome is short, swollen and fleshy. Native to the Falkland Islands, rare, found on dwarf shrub heath and acid grasslands on East Falkland and at least one site on West Falkland. It is also on South America, North America and South Georgia.

Falkland Islands Red List: Vulnerable

This plant is legally protected. It is an offence to deliberately pick, collect, cut, uproot or destroy a protected wild plant.
